Just 10 things that make you go hmmmm?

SO I was recently watching some wonderful late night boob tube with my sister and mother when this ad came on the TV.

( I love it when something comes on that I really do think that I might like or could use...
I am an avid reader. I love nothing more than to sit in front of a fire on a cold night and read an entire book just because I can. )

So when a portable electric heating device came up I was intrigued, Never mind that I have not the means to purchase this beautiful hand crafted appliance. I was impressed that it could heat an entire room with a light bulb yet it was cold to the touch ruling out the accidental bump and burn.
I was delighted with the fact that it could be wheeled from one room to the next doubling or tripling your reading room experiences,
(you want to read in the bathroom but its cold in there? no problem!! In the bedroom where the vent is stuck closed... No worries!! Or in the kitchen where the heat just doesn't heat well enough GO FOR IT!! And last but certainly not least in the garage where no sane person would think to heat because that would be a waste of heat? well don't you fret my friend!!)
Everything about this portable fireplace was amazing....

Everything that is except who makes them...
These ingenious inventions are made by the Amish!!!!

And there is where I knew it was too good to be true.

Like I am gonna buy something electric built by someone who can never use electricity? What where the Amish smoking when they came up with this?

And that got me thinking .....
What else is just too stupid to be true.... 10 things that make me go hmmmm...

#2.
UM MM did anybody else watch the MTV documentary following Britney's come back?
the whole Ive changed and I'm not crazy anymore ... I love my boys and I don't want to be associated with bad things like before? I admit she had me going until 5 minutes after the documentary, with the debut of womanizer... way to change for your boys!!

I don't get it she is the kinda idol that is plastered all over the media... her and others like Miley Cyrus...
I mean just look at the latest lyrics she sings...(Miley that is)
Every week's the same,
stuck in school, so lame
My parents say that I'm lazy
Getting up at 8 A.M's crazy
Tired of being told what to do,
so unfair, so uncool
The day's too long and I'm holding on
Till I hear the bell ring's cause
that's the time when we're gonna
Time when we're gonna Breakout!
Let the party start We're gonna stay out,
gonna break some hearts
We're gonna dance 'til the dance floor falls apart Uh oh,
all over again We're gonna wake up everyone we know
We're gonna have some fun,
gonna lose control It feels so good to let go-o-o
Hanging outs just something we like to do
My friends and the mess we get into
These are the lessons that we chose
Not a book full of things we'll never use.......
Yup I don't get it?

#3. I don't even need to go any where with this the picture is all that is needed........
hmmmmmm.... what ever happened to the good old
fashioned after school specials that scared you senseless and convinced
you that all this crap really is bad for you? I almost hate TV enough to
not watch it anymore....almost.

#4. Ok growing up I was always sad that I couldn't have a "real pet" Something that could cuddle with you, fetch things for you, play with. You know something that could really love you back. But with a parent that was allergic to anything resembling hair fur feathers or really skin it was hard to find anything fitting the above description. That being said it was frogs, and turtles, and fish for most of my childhood. And I do have to admit that was OK because when they came out with the hypo dog I, Well I was a little afraid:

doesn't she just scream love me I'm cuddly?

#5. SPAM. It wasn't until my mission and that I learned not only is there the orinal spongy mystery meat but the mystery flavor mystery meat. Can anyone really taste the difference of Spam or Spam Garlic or Spam BBQ or my favorite Spam with Cheese... which is little more than mystery meat with mystery processed what in the crap is that?

#6. The sad thing about this next one is I do remember buying these when I was a kid....
Please, Please,Please.... Strawberry flavored? Dang Gina!! I mean comon'

Don't know which is worse but at least the next ones would taste so bad a kid wouldn't want to have another, the candy cigarettes should have been bacon flavored, would have cured me of ever thinking they might be cool in real life!! (there is a following disclaimer especially meant for my mother... I may have thought it might be cool but I NEVER DID SMOKE A CIGARETTE!! I stuck to the candy ones only!!)

#7... I never did get the dried food anything...
dried fruit kinda freaks me out although i love dried mango's i don't like prunes raisins apples or anything that when it dries wrinkles... its just too weird to eat something that looks like an old persons skin, That just kinda , like i said it freaks me out.
#8 EGGS!!
I will eat an egg occasionally, but it has to be cooked in something else or with something to hide the reminder of the egg. I think it may be a mental thing but I just cant get the idea that it was not too long ago that it shot out of a chickens butt....that mental picture it wont get out of my head?! Go figure!! (I am so sorry if I have ruined eggs for anyone who just read that.)
#9. 80's Fashion....
80s hair... side pony, rodent or water foul, new wave shaved short on one side left long on the other, Uncle Jesse's not quite a mullet mullet, the I'm closer to heaven than you bangs, the butt crack in the back look, and the 80s punk hawk,
Eye shadow was a must the crazier the color the better, up the brow in electric blue do you remember that? and the guys got into it too Boy George really started something...thank goodness it didn't stick?!!
Clothing...just a few things I loved and wore when i didn't know better ...leg warmers, parachute pants, neon anything, acid washed jeans, ankle socks with open toed shoes, swatch watches, jellies, puffy sleeved dresses and army boots, and my personal fave the magic color hyper color clothing. ( these were horrible for women to wear who were busty with out fail those were the first things to change colors?!! wore mine once and had to give em to my brothers!! )
Sad thing was I thought I was soooo Hot! Well .... Punky Brewster would have been proud on any given day that I walked out of the house!!
But looking back I really don't understand the fashion statements from that era at all... not at all!!
#10. C C & the music factory...
